Event Description
A unique running/walking event, where participants predict their finish time in advance. Participants are NOT allowed to wear watches or any other type of timing device. Awards will be based upon the participants that finish closest to their predicted time.
Distances
This event features a 13K (8.06 miles) and a 6K (3.7 miles) run or walk.
Location
Skinner Butte Park - Eugene, Oregon. The start/finish, packet pickup and post-race activities will be at the Lamb Cottage.
Directions
In Eugene, take High Street north from downtown. After 1st Street, High Street will curve west (left) and become Cheshire. Follow Cheshire to the parking lot immediately west of the Lamb Cottage.
Course
The 13K and 6K both start in Skinner Butte Park, adjacent to the Lamb Cottage. Both courses follow the Willamette River bike paths, with the 13K crossing both the Owosso and DeFazio bridges, while the 6K crosses both the Greenway and Defazio bridges. Entry Fees
$15 through Friday, January 23, $20 on race day. Add $12 for a long-sleeve event tech t-shirt or $8 for a cotton long-sleeve shirt.
Registration
Register in person at the Eugene Running Company. Entry forms will be avaialble soon.
Awards
In both races, awards will be presented to the 25 individuals with the closest predicted and finish times, as well as the top overall male and female finisher and top finisher in each age group - there will be no duplicate awards. All participants will also be eligible for random prize drawings.
Chip Timing
This event will be chip timed. Instructions on attaching your chip will be provided in the race packets.
Post-Race Refreshments
Stick around after you finish for refreshments at the Lamb Cottage, including drinks, fruit, bagels, chili and soup.
