Race Schedule

8:00am - Swim Start - start times will be based on estimated times, with the slowest predicted times starting first, and the fastest starting last.


Event Description
The race starts with a 500 yard swim, followed by a 17 mile bike and concludes with a 5K run.  The WOU Sprint Triathlon is a fund-raiser for the WOU Physical Education Department.  For the bike portion of the event, participants can choose between the road bike or mountain bike divisions.

Western Oregon University - Monmouth, Oregon, starting at the Wolverton Memorial Swimming Pool.

Courses

The 500 yard swim will be at the Wolverton Memorial Swimming Pool.  The 17 mile bike course (helmet mandatory) will wind through rolling hills on a country road southwest of Monmouth.  The 5K run will traverse through campus, head northeast to a turnaround and then back to the finish at the WOU track.  Course maps coming soon.


Entry Fees

$25 - WOU Student, $40 - Non-WOU Student, $45 - Relay Team.


Registration

Entry forms must be received by 5pm on April 10.  Entry forms are available at the event WEBSITE.  Online registration is not available for this event.  There will absolutely be no late or race day registration.


Awards

Awards will be presented to the overall male and female finisher, the top three in each age group and division and the top team in each category and division. All participants will also be eligible for random prize drawings.  The awards ceremony will take place approximately 15 minutes after the final participant finishes.


Age Groups

17 & Under, 18-24, 25-34, 35-44, 45-54, 55 & Over.


Packet Pickup
On race day at the OPE gym from 6:30am to 7:30am.


Workshops
Triathlon workshop dates TBD.   Pre-registration is required and space is limited.  Some of the helpful hints will include the timed swim, and a preview of the bike and run courses.  For more information, please call, 503-838-8860.
